large man cave shed

This shed on the left may look like your typical garage style shed that is used to store lawn equipment and tools. However, don’t be fooled by this picture!

Inside this large shed, a pristine bar seats up to 6 people and features almost every type of alcohol that has ever been mentioned in a country song. Next to the window sits a professional pool table. Sheds are not just for storing shovels and flower baskets anymore. They are a place where men can be- men! Wives – you have been warned!

His secret is no longer safe:

huge garage shed

Sometimes, there just isn’t enough space inside your home to create a man-centric room. But wooden sheds are a great option for this type of “dwelling” because they are highly customizable. You can carve out enough space to make this happen with some creative know-how.

Inspiration Can Be Found on YouTube

Leave it to folks to film their own man caves and post it up on YouTube with tips to make your own! And, they look pretty cool.

  • Man Cave Lounge Shed demonstrates the process of insulating and drywalling a mere 120 ft. wooden shed.
  • Sam’s Man Cave shows a complete remodel with recess lighting and the mounting of a large flat screen on the wall.

Me and My Man Shed

The New York Times did a cool piece about crafting a “man shed,” which is slightly different. Ed said that even though he wanted his own space, he still needed something useful for his tools, not just for storing a keg of beer or watching a ballgame. So he discussed how he “tricked out” his wooden shed and turned it into this upgraded version.

We are in the process of buying a property on Vancouver Island around Parksville. What would a 16×20 barn style building cost, and roughly what do you estimate for shipping? We plan to use it as a music studio/art studio, on the rear of the half acre lot.
